Eden House

Eden House is a 4 bedroom home for young people with a learning difficulty and/or autism based in Crewe, Cheshire East.

We Make a House Home

Our homes are safe, warm and welcoming spaces for children and young people to grow and flourish. Eden House is a spacious bungalow with its own garden located on the outskirts of Crewe, close to amenities but with plenty of open spaces to explore. Eden House is an Ofsted registered children’s home that provides a nurturing and supportive environment for up to four young people, male and female, aged 8-17 years old with learning disabilities and/or autism. Every young person residing at Eden House is individually assessed to ensure that we can offer the right level of support and to ensure a good match with their peers.

Our therapeutic environment centres around relationships which are warm, nurturing and committed, with the care team adopting an attitude of PACE-Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy and also creating a ‘family’ environment which is happy, fun, comfortable and safe. We create a Secure Base through the relationships we create and the safety the children experience living in the home.

We use PBS-Positive Behaviour Support, a person-centred framework for supporting children with learning disabilities and/or autism, who have, or may be at the risk of developing challenging behaviours. Each child will have a Positive Behaviour Support Plan which will be at the centre of their care and support in the home. Children and young people will have input into this plan and have a say in the support we provide; also so they can start to have an understanding of their own behaviours.

We will work with any professionals involved and therapies the children and young people have already started but where further support is needed, we will source a suitable therapy/therapist to work with the child and/or further training that the team require to support this. This could include Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Speech and Language, Intensive Interaction or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Although we do not have an in-house education provision, we will work alongside local authorities and virtual schools to find the right school to support the children and young people’s needs. Where we can this will mean keeping the child/young person at their current school or finding a suitable local school. There are several excellent schools in the local area suitable for children with a range of complex needs and or Autism.

We do expect that children already have an EHCP in place.

We will support school attendance, attend any meetings regarding their education or if difficulties arise and encourage extra curriculum activities and further learning in the home.

An Independent Future..

Our committment extends far beyond childhood. Working with our sister company that provide bespoke community placements for adults with complex needs, Estuary Care manage, plan and support a meticulous transition for all our young people to ensure they are equipped to navigate the challenges and opportunities of adulthood.
